Sebastien Tellier. New single - maybe? New mixes - yes. Better than Danger’s ‘Divine’ mix? Perhaps.
Always difficult to find one image of Monsieur Tellier that perfectly summarises his style. Truth is, he is far to enigmatic and aesthetically stylish to succumb to one ‘look’. Anyway…
So ok, you’ve heard ‘La Ritournelle’ - with THOSE DRUMS, and THOSE LYRICS, and THOSE SYNTHS and you really liked the last few singles (Sexual Sportswear and Divine, and you saw his now peerless Eurovision performance…but you still havent spent your £10 on his new album (shame on you), Are these mixes that have been floating around the web this week likely to change your mind? We here at 88days are swaying towards the Kavinsky laid back mix of Roche - but check out the more house synth love on Kilometer.
New record, well record of several months is his best yet - yes, better than Politics, better than Universe and Just better. Is consistent and wonderfully produced by you know who (the one of our Daft Punk right.). Best track for me, ‘Fingers of Steel’. Buy the album. Support independent record labels. Just for the record, 12″ La Ritournelle - still worth the £16 is cost me.

Was really hoping for something more exciting from Kavinsky. I love his cheeky “Miami Vice” sound but this mix didnt move me.
