Stórsveit Nix Noltes

This is fucking amazing. Royal Family Divorce is the latest release from yet another finely tuned and highly enigmatic Icelandic group. Storsveit Nix Noltes sound like an epic last party on earth in the middle of the Hungarian Countryside - a barn overflowing with musicians caped in tweed and home made knitwear (possibly double cardigans of similar tone but quite different lengths) playings songs to celebrate life and love in a quite post rock fashion.

Here be my new babes: (this be the band line up)

Áki Ásgeirsson (trumpet, cornetto and computer), Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson (trumpet – mum / Sigur Ros) Ingi Garðar Erlendsson (trombone, sousaphone and euphonium - Benni Hemm Hemm), Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir (accordion – mum / Animal Collective / Mice Parade / Kria Brekkan), Kristín Þóra Haraldsdóttir (violin), Hildur Ingveldard Guðnadóttir (cello – mum / Lost In Hidurness / Pan Sonic), Gestur Guðnason (electric guitar), Hallvarður Ásgeirsson (electric guitar, banjo), Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson (electric guitar, acoustic guitar), Páll Ivan Pálsson (double bass), and Ólafur Björn Ólafsson (drums, melodica).
