In The Meantime. Hockey. Space. Hogs. x
There was a moment a few months ago when standing with an A&R man we were discussing Hockey signing to Virgin Records. Why we asked, EMI are screwed, right? Well apparently, and yet still, Hockey (who along with the Little Comets are making some of the best indie pop around presently) signed. This track, released this week, has been kicking around on blogs for a while and whilst it surges and lifts each and every soul that it strikes, I can’t help but think it’s Spacehog. Do you remember Spacehog, the ‘HUGE in American, unknown everywhere else’ band. Alas, I loved their record and there’s certainly a synergy way beyond the bridge and the vocal delivery in both snacks…enjoy.
Thought of the day, why do people still say ‘thanks for the add’ - to say, what the fuck is that about. And just for the record, i’m a grindin on both bands.
