.Prefuse. Seventy. Three. P73. Prefuse 73.

I’ve always rated Scot Herren, aka Prefuse 73 - mostly post seeing him live at Sonar a few years back. I believe both Peel and Da Bank are of the fan club. We should appraise his artwork on a more individual basis - but lets collectively suggest, brilliant. Warp Records continue to pump out the records and like so much of his catalogue this record doesn’t move forward with huge aplomb, instead continuing to tow a similarly aesthetical path. This said, it’s quite great. Recently to be found on the absolutely super duper (and much loved) UrbanOutfitters Comps numero 4.
Sit back. Dub out. Enjoy. Comments if you will. Grindin if you must.
Indeed Herren will be living up to his reputation in 2009 by releasing three albums & 1 EP under three different names in the course of 1 1/2 months!
1/ As ‘Prefuse 73′, Herren releases Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian on Warp, April 20th.
2/ Just weeks later La Llama (Stones Throw, May 12th), the work of Herren in side-project ‘Savath y Savalas’, a collaborative effort with Catalan singer Eva Puyuelo Muns.
3/ In between there’s Ice Capped at Both Ends from ‘Diamond Watch Wrists’ (Warp, May 4th), Herren’s mysterious new band with Zach Hill of Mars Volta & Hella, that nods to 60s European acid-folk, classic American singer-songwriters and krautrock (once again very different from other GSH output).
4/And finally on the 1st June, Warp is to release ‘Prefuse 73′ EP, ‘The Forest of Oversensitivity’, vocoder vocals, less of the glitch and more apparent melody lines, Guillermo Scott Herren is here to throw us once again!
