MOTHS EAT YOUR CLOTHES.
An exception piece of music that has the music world throbbing with excitement, akin to those of a slightly besotted male teenager finally releasing the bra straps of a beautiful woman. At 9 minutes this track provides the listener with something of a journey through trademark depths of sound by Burial and those sampled acoustic noises of Four Tet. Truth is, did anyone think this collaboration would work quite so beautifully? No. The beauty of this piece is further excentuated with the chopped up hazy vocal that we’ve all come to love in Burials two step influenced tunes. Given these are the first tracks, remix, original, or other, that the unfairly unveiled Will Bevan (Burial) has produced, it gives all great hope that one of this centuries greatest musical talents can surpass the greatness of his first two bodies of work, and release something of generation defining beauty. Four Tet provides the groove that we’ve come to love, no less in Everything Elastic with those broken beat synths. Superb. Highly recommended above and beyond all other music you’ll find this year. You can pre-order and buy the 12″ at Roughtrade.com - but we expect it’s sold out. Not sure who is releasing this record but let us hope there is a re-press.
Additionally, great to see Four Tet back in the action - whilst I love his project with Steve Reid - it’s good to hear him back out there on his own innovating.
MP3: Four Tet and Burial: Moth
As a side note, we’ve a DJ gig coming up with a Slutty Fringe nature. More to come..
