88 days in my veins

Afffrrrrooooobeeeeeeatcha

Afrobeat is definitely lacking as a genre in my music / record / digital music collection. Certainly the influence is ubiquitous across many many records. Did you know Tony Allen is the sticks man on Tellier’s ‘La Ritournelle‘ (ala one of the finest records of our generation). This track is taken from Tony Allen’s new album on World Circuit, thankfully keeping the dream of Fela Kuti alive. The new album is called ‘Secret Agent’ and is pretty damn good. It’s a very modern sounding record with the expected worldly instrumentation and at times it could do with a holla back to the fine 60’s and 70’s sounds. Some nice vocals too. In part. Not one for the purists but a really great place to start. BUY

Welcome to 88 days in my veins. We usually write from London. Although sometimes we're caught between Brighton, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and Great Malvern.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center. Kurt Vonnegut
