88 Days fave Jon Hillcock put us onto this lot The Sticks this morning, and as sometime Brighton residents, interest piqued. We think a little of Let’s Wrestle’s early days, and of Cold Pumas, and between the latter and this lot, suddenly Brighton’s music scene doesn’t seem as BIMM as it perhaps once did. IT IS RIGHT [...]

Whilst one of us sits and works at a review of the musical landscape of the owwnine, have a little bit of The Swiss from, well, Australia - recently signed to Modular there and basically killing it. We’ve already spoken of these guys previously - but the story has changed and so ha the vibe. [...]

You are not your fucking trainers. You do not really like dubstep. You are not from fucking Bristol. You keep an eye on petrol prices and pick up your children bang on at 3.30pm before taking them to the local swimming pool. You ruin other people’s fucking fun.
It all goes so well until the vocals [...]
our love for Roxy and the Ferry is well documented. we still can’t get over Avalon, frankly - can you? - but Ferry’s vocals do not quite reach those dizzy heights here. West End Wolf is Johnson Somerset, longtime Ferry friend and also the remixer of other 88 days icons Simple Minds!!! and Duran Duran!!!1 [...]
Best remixer in the world right now. Rumours of HEALTH remix are based on the truth and it’s really rather brilliant. Debut album coming in 2010 - we can’t wait.
