It’s not so far to the Great Escape from my doorstep. Ten minutes, say. Near enough to get into my own bed by midnight on the first night, ready for an early start this morning. Two bands down (pathetic?). A lot more to go.
Jamaica - no thank you.
Cold Cave - yes yes yes yes yes.
David E. Sugar tonight? yes yes yes. His new band plays at the Fortune of War later on tonight.
The Great Escape Festival, it’s next weekend, it’s cheap as chips so see a plethora of sounds and wonderful bands and for once, we’re both in the same city for more than 30 seconds.
The beauty is in the emotional comfort that this band brings. When your heart is broken, your mind is soured but there is green in the trees, blue in the sky and hope in tomorrow.

Remarkable, take a listen and tell me that Wild Nothing is the work of one man? The idealisation of one man? Impossible. Phenomenal. A truly beautiful record resonates with a broken heart on spring evenings in London. Grab this and enjoy. Oh, and yes I feel a bit dirty following the work of another breaking blog, but hey. Love you Staceface.
The record is released on June 1st via the unbeatable Captured Tracks
Welcome to 88 days in my veins. We usually write from London. Although sometimes we're caught between Brighton, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and Great Malvern.
I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center. Kurt Vonnegut
